Marlborough Hebe, New Zealand Lilac

This is a unique veronica and a favourite amongst NZ gardeners. Can reach 1 m tall. Its flower is pale violet, mauve, pale pink or almost white. It occurs naturally on rocky banks, and river gorges, but in the home garden prefers well drained soil and a warm site. It flowers from late October to December.

Leaves are serrated and glossy green and red margined up to 5.7 cm in length. Prune immediately after flowering and remove flowers. Take care to water in dry periods.
